Co-Chair - Jason Hu

Jason joined ASME in his first year at UBC. Having switched careers from forensic sciences and analytical chemistry to mechanical engineering, he is passionate about sharing his academic and professional experiences. Jason took on supporting and industry outreach roles before accepting the Co-chair position in 2016. He hopes to showcase the exceptional students coming out of UBC’s Mechanical Engineering program. Jason’s goal is to imbue students’ career-making decisions with further exposure to available employers and industries.
Co-Chair - Andrew Niu

Andrew has been with the ASME UBC Student Section for 3 years, and is in his last year of studies in Mechanical Engineering. At ASME, Andrew is responsible for planning and overseeing company tours, guest speaker presentations, and networking events. He is enthusiastic about leadership and networking opportunities, and is always open to meeting new people and planning new events. His personal hobbies include combat sports, motorcycles, traditional archery, and painting.
Secretary - Jacob Su

Jacob will be the Secretary for the UBC Student Section of ASME for the 2016-17 school year. He is a 4th year student studying under the mechanical engineering program here at UBC, and this will be his 3rd year working with the ASME UBC team. Previously, he has fulfilled the duties of the Treasurer, and the Industry Outreach Lead positions. Having previously been the Secretary for Club Mech (Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Club), Jacob will be a good fit and an excellent addition to the ASME UBC team.
External Relations Commitee Head - Eric Cao

Eric is a 4th year mechanical engineering student. He serves as a member of the industry outreach committee and is responsible for bringing in industry partners for events and presentations. Eric has done several work terms in utility related industries and is interested in the energy sector. He enjoys rock climbing, swimming and skiing in his free time.
Co-Lead for Industry Outreach - Daniel Zhao

Daniel is in his second year of Mechanical Engineering. His role as Co-lead for Industry Outreach includes reaching out to industry professionals to organize professional events for students. This year, Daniel is in charge of organizing a tour of Granville Island Brewery among other things. In his spare time, Daniel can be found on the ski hill or the basketball court.
Co-Lead for Industry Outreach - Jason LeBlanc
Mr. Jason R. LeBlanc is a BASc. student studying mechanical engineering with a specialization in mechatronics. He has been working with mechanical systems all his life, focusing primarily on performance bicycles and motorsports such as automobile racing. He hopes to pursue a career in similar fields but is open to other areas such as biomedical engineering since he has relevant experience form his past degree (BSc. Hons. - Life Sciences, Queen’s University). In addition to his studies, Jason is an active member of the UBC Formula SAE Design Team, a competitive cyclist, and an avid outdoorsman.

Webmaster - Erin Callow

Erin is a fifth year Computer Science student on exchange at UBC from McGill University. Within ASME, Erin is responsible for the design and upkeep of the ASME UBC Student Section's website as well as social media promotion and correspondence. This is her first semester with ASME and she is very excited to help the club expand its online presence. In her free time, Erin play's soccer, skis, practices two styles of Karate, and enjoys playing board games.
